“Field and Backyard Emergencies"
Dear Gold Country Members:
2012 should prove to be an interesting year. Our program schedule will follow my goal to increase our knowledge of all things relating to our passion....Fly Fishing. That includes Good Eats and fellowship.
January starts with Dr.Brian Evans from Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and KNCO Radio talking on field and backyard emergencies. This is a must for members and family. Everyone needs to review the basics on a regular basis. It could save a life.
February looks to be a program by a fishing guide on "Improving your Angling Photos". From the looks of some of the shots that we get....everybody needs this primer shot on location. .
March will bring a program on all aspects of Chironomid and indicator fishing by Cary Boyden. We found him at Diamond Lake, Oregon this past June. He is the best. Ever see someone having a hundred fish day? You need to add this skill to your repertoire.
April features a return of Lance Gray speaking on the Fabulous Four Bass Lakes on the west side of the Valley.....just as bass season is rolling. I'm planning trips to Stonyford, Black Butte and Indian Valley.
May will be a self generated Stillwater Panel...Like our hugely successful Yuba River session last year where we hosted our largest turnout of the year.
June is Hamburger and BS night under the stars.
August Tri Tip Barbecue and Pot Luck at Condon Park
September...Eastern Sierra Trout Fishing Opportunities
Come and bring a friend.
